Stop Tooth Pain and Complications With a Comfortable Root Canal

A painful tooth is an indication that the infected tooth has developed tooth decay in the pulp chamber. That infection could be wreaking havoc in your mouth. One of the most routine solutions to many tooth ache is a root canal treatment. Without treatment, you are risking loosing your tooth and spreading the infection to other areas throughout your body. Our goal during your root canal treatment is to save the tooth while giving you leading-edge, comfortable and virtually pain-free endodontic treatment.

What is a Root Canal? & How is a Root Canal Performed?

Root canal therapy is a standard procedure that helps remove infected pulp from the root of the tooth. If the infection is not removed, an abscess can form on the bottom of the tooth where the infected nerves are located. This infection in tooth begins to cause a lot of pain and immense discomfort. This can further cause damage to the tooth and eat at the enamel from the inside out.

During treatment, the dentist will gently drill into the biting surface of the tooth to gain access to the infected areas underneath. They then clean out the inside of the tooth, removing the infection, diseased pulp and nerves. Afterward, the endodontist proceeds with the root canal filling, adding a rubber-like material that seals the canal to prevent reinfection. If you need a dental crown, Dr. Suffoletta can make a custom, permanent crown the same day using in-house CEREC technology. The dental crown helps replace the top of the tooth after the root canal procedure is completed.
